Jesus said, "where two or three are gathered together I will be in the midst of them." As Christians, our worship, our gathering for prayer, is central to our identity.
At Ascension, we celebrate the Holy Eucharist (commonly called Mass, Holy Communion, or the Lord's Supper) on Sundays and Feast Days. We gather to hear the Word proclaimed and receive Christ in the Sacrament of the Altar -- when we are joined one to another and heaven to earth, in the breaking of the bread and the pouring of the wine. It is this action that defines who we are to become when worship ends: the Body and Blood of Christ broken and poured out for all the world.
Throughout the year, worship opportunities are offered on Feast Days and during the week.
We believe that this is God's house; it does not belong to us, to the Episcopal Church, but to God. Therefore, it is to be a spiritual home for all, regardless of where you are in your walk with God. At Ascension and in the Episcopal Church, all baptized Christians are welcome to share in Holy Communion.
