"Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me."
(Matthew 25:40 NRSV)
Grounded in the teachings of Scripture, this ministry begins with regular prayer for those living with HIV/AIDS in our community and throughout the world. Once a month an "AIDS Sunday" is held where parishioners are encouraged to make donations which will be used to offset the television costs for patients in the hospice unit an area hospital. Throughout the year, collections are held to support the work of Episcopal Relief and Development and other aid providing organizations. The AIDS Minsitry Team is currently looking at ways to expand its' reach and impact in our community.
The Church of the Ascension is a member parish of the National Episcopal AIDS Coalition. NEAC is a community of faith, hope and love, which seeks to advance the work of the Church through education, advocacy, and prophectic witness. For more information, visit their website: http://www.neac.org.
