Ascension in Prayer
Our parish family is joined together in prayer when we are at home, work, or traveling through this webpage. Use the links on the left to find the appropriate prayer page.
These devotions follow the basic structure of the Daily Office of the Church and are adapted from the Book of Common Prayer pages 137-140. These daily devotions are divided into four prayer services: Morning, Noonday, Evening and Night.
They may be read individually or in small groups. When more than one person is present, the Reading and the Collect should be read by one person, and the other parts said in unison, or read responsively by verse.
For convenience, appropriate Psalms, Readings, and Collects are provided in each service. The prayer list is updated regularly and you may choose to add your own petitions.
You may use the Book of Common Prayer to replace the Psalms and Readings as appointed in the following sections:
a) the Lectionary for Sundays, Holy Days, the Common of Saints, and
Various Occasions, page 888.
b) the Daily Office Lectionary, page 934
c) some other manual of devotion which provides daily selections for the
Church Year.
