Church of the Ascension
The Episcopal Church in Greenpoint and Williamsburg

Please click here for more about the history of the Church of the Ascension.

Our parish serves the residents of Greenpoint and Williamsburg, Brooklyn, as well as other surrounding communities. We invite you to join us at our landmark church, the oldest in Greenpoint.

Hospitality is central to our mission, and a warm welcome can be expected when you come through the doors. We offer traditional worship following the Book of Common Prayer. Our Sunday worship, while more formal, is still friendly and invites the worshipper to participate using all the senses.

Following Mass on Sunday, coffee and a light breakfast are served in our parish house. This gives our parish family a chance to catch-up with one another and greet our guests.

Sunday School is offered from September to May for our children. Adult Christian education forums are offered throughout the year.

At Ascension and in the Episcopal Church, all baptized Christians are welcome to receive Holy Communion, the Sacrament of Christ's Body and Blood. If you are interested in being baptized, please speak to the parish priest.

The Church of the Ascension is a parish in the Diocese of Long Island located in the Archdeaconry of Brooklyn. We are a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
